How to prepare your building materials list for a quote

To request a quote for building materials, send your list of materials, the quantities and the delivery location through the quote request form, or on WhatsApp. The clearer the list, the more precise and quicker the quote, and the fewer questions back and forth before it. Here is what to give for each category.
Steel & Rebar
Give the type, diameter, length and quantity for each size separately, or attach the bar schedule from the drawings if you have one.
Cement & Concrete Products
Give the type of cement or concrete product and the quantity, and say what it is for (foundations, structure or plastering) if you are not sure of the type.
Blocks & Masonry
Give the type of block (solid or hollow), its size and the quantity, and where it goes: external walls or internal partitions.
Waterproofing & Insulation
Give where the insulation goes (roof, foundation or wall) and the area, and the type of insulation if the specification names one.
Plumbing & Sanitary Ware
Send the list of items with their sizes and quantities, and name a preferred brand or the consultant’s specification if there is one.
Paints & Coatings
Give the use (interior or exterior), the area, and the colour and finish (matt or gloss) if you know them.
Tiles & Ceilings
Give the type, size and area, and add an allowance for cutting and breakage if you want the quantity to include it.
Before you send the list
- Give the exact delivery location, and when you need the materials.
- If the supply comes in batches, say what each batch needs.
- Attach the specifications or drawings if you have them: they answer many questions in advance.
- Give your name and phone number, so we can reach you if the list needs clarifying.
